Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum Capillus Veneris) is native to the southern half of the United States from California to the Atlantic coast, through Mexico and Central America, to South America. It is a perennial herb with a short creeping rhizome, a species of the genus Adiantum of the Pteris family. It can grow up to 60 cm. Segments of the latter order 2.5–3 cm long and 1.5–2 cm wide, very tender and thin, on hairy petioles, oblique-wedge-shaped, with a wedge-shaped base and a fan-lobed apex, solid, obtuse. Petioles of leaves are black-brown, thin, and glossy. Maidenhair Fern spores all summer from late spring to early fall.
